I've only had my Fiat for a few days, but girls love it. I am getting flirted with HARDCORE. And I'm a 38-year-old guy who's bald and has a beard. If I liked girls, I'd be neck-deep in it right now.

Watch out, we may end up discovering the female equivalent of Ray Wert.

Mine is a 124 Spider.

Honest question,

Have you considered that one reason for the attention may by the women are not threatened by a gay man?

Girls love less aggressive looking cars. It is the truth. Bring an Aventador and you will just be surrounded by dudes. You know what you must do now.

Well, I don't have any rainbow stickers on it, and I've been by myself all week. And all my life, no one has ever suspected I'm gay unless I've told them. My partner calls me "Daywalker". Maybe they like the Oppo decal.

It could've been an older one that was before the hiatus. (See: my 124 Spider.)

It's so funny how some cars get attention and some don't.

It isn't necessarily the fastest or most expensive cars that get the most attention. Cars that look unique or "friendly" often get more attention. I saw your car in another thread and it's definitely a friendly looking car.

And color matters a lot. Your blue is a sweet color. None of my cars are exciting colors, and they get almost zero attention.

I have a black 911 and it gets practically no attention. I once drove a red Boxster service loaner. It was both an exciting color and a friendlier looking car. I only had it for a day and it was amazing how much attention the car got. Everyone from girls to guys, young to old gave me a thumbs up or complimented it. It felt weird to get so much attention!

Yeah I helped a really cool lady load groceries in her Abarth, she forgot something and had to run back into the store so she asked me to watch her car and every ~25-30 year old girl loved it. When the owner came back out she saw the girls around it she laughed. She said girls love how it doesn't look super aggressive and angry, but it doesn't look too cute like a yellow new beetle.

My observation is that I get flirted with most when I'm happily in a relationship. When single and thus more interested in women it happens way less. I bet the constant smile on fhrblig's face caused by driving his new car helped too.

Don't hate on the 500. I'm a straight guy and I nearly bought a 500 instead of my Mazda3, but the dealer with the used one I looked at managed to piss me off. That, plus the extra room for parts sealed the deal for the 3. OTOH, my next car will either be an Abarth or a Miata.

I drove my mom's Tracker convertible for a while in high school. Even though I loathed the car and couldn't wait for the lease to be up, girls always said it was cute.

Hmm, I wonder. If the Fiat is a lady-magnet, then what car is the gay-gentleman-magnet?

Kinja'd!!! fhrblig > YSI-what can brown do for you

Yeah, but they'd all be straight guys, and that does me about as good as the girls do. Truth be told, if I wanted to buy a car to attract gay dudes, it'd be a new Audi or a new BMW.

A new Audi or a new BMW, usually.

Isn't it funny how some cars are so popular with the ladies?

Some classic cars also get a ton of attention. Classic trucks from the 50s painted in hot colors like orange or yellow get so much attention.

The other thing I was going to mention is that I haven't had girls flirt with me since high school. I start driving this car, and BAM! They're coming out of the woodwork.

Yeah, you're not the first person on here to find that out. I only discovered recently that it doesn't seem to be widely known, which is odd. Of course women love men in small cars, particularly small, stylish, Italian cars. And especially in red.

Fiats make great knicker-dissolvers. Believe it or not, the 500 isn't as good as the Panda, but it's better than pretty much everything else you can buy.

I'm getting the funniest mental image of this. I picture a flannel shirt, 6 ftish guy just bumping along. My mind is wandering for sure today.

(I know the description doesn't sound lol worthy, but if you could see what I picture I assure you, you'd laugh).
